Internal Landscapes
Internal Landscape Paintings
This ongoing series explores the relationship between internal and external landscapes — the meeting point between emotion, memory, and place. Through an intuitive painting practice, Kerrie investigates how identity is shaped by the environments we inhabit and the stories embedded in the land.
Each work is created using hand-processed natural pigments, including ochres, foraged plant inks, and carbon-based materials. These pigments root the paintings in the local landscape, allowing the physical matter of place to become part of the visual language. The result is a collection of site-responsive works that bridge the personal and the geological — grounding inner worlds in the textures and tones of the earth itself.
